Se trata de un ensayo de léxico o glosario de conceptos políticos inspirado por L'Abécédaire de Gilles Deleuze, realizado en 1989 por Pierre-André Boutang, y el texto de Heinrich von Kleist Sobre la elaboración paulatina del pensamiento mientras se habla (1805). Consiste en una suerte de adaptación del libro Cambiar el mundo sin tomar el poder (2002) mediante una conversación con su autor, John Holloway, registrada en Puebla. El vídeo propone un contrapunto entre las ideas de Holloway, politólogo irlandés establecido en México, y el análisis de las formas expresivas y comunicativas que caracterizaron la irrupción del Ejército Zapatista de Liberación Nacional (EZLN) en Chiapas el 1 de enero de 1994. El clima de fondo para esta conversación con Holloway lo constituyen algunas de las ideas contenidas en El principio esperanza, la obra magna escrita por el filósofo alemán exiliado Ernst Bloch entre 1938-1947.

Aunque se trata del único capítulo que existe hasta la fecha de este Léxico familiar de Marcelo Expósito, el formato conversacional y dialógico ha sido habitual en su trabajo, culminando hasta el momento en el tejido de conversaciones que conforman La pandemia en germinal. Una elegía global de la cuarentena, su "obra sonora escénica" concebida como una película sin imágenes o una obra teatral sin presencia actoral, cuya primera parte fue estrenada el pasado año 2020.

This is a lexical essay or glossary of political concepts inspired by L'Abécédaire de Gilles Deleuze, produced by Pierre-André Boutang in 1989, and the Heinrich von Kleist text On the Gradual Production of Thoughts Whilst Speaking (1805), consisting of a sort of adaptation of the book Change the World Without Taking Power (2002) through a conversation with its author, John Holloway, that was held in Puebla. The video proposes a counterpoint between the ideas of Holloway, an Irish political scientist in Mexico, and an analysis of the expressive and communicative forms that characterized the Zapatista National Liberation Army (EZLN) uprising in Chiapas on January 1, 1994. The background to this conversation with Holloway is constituted by some of the ideas contained in The Principle of Hope, the masterwork of the exiled German philosopher Ernst Bloch, written between 1938 and 1947.
Although this is the only installment thus far in Marcelo Expósito’s Family Lexicon, the conversational, dialogic format has been recurrent in his work, culminating in the web of conversations that make up The Pandemic in Germinal: A Global Quarantine Elegy, his "theatrical sound piece" conceived as a film without images or a play without actors, whose first part debuted in 2020.
