Su preparación en el Centro Universitario de Teatro (CUT) de la UNAM lo convierte en uno de los actores contemporáneos más versátiles y mejor preparados. Destaca por su profesionalismo y contundencia en cada uno de los personajes que interpreta.Enlista importantes títulos de la industria, en participaciones para cine y televisión. Para la pantalla grande, ha participado en filmes como “Güeros” (Dir. Alonso Ruizpalacios), “Paraíso perdido” (Dir. Humberto Hinojosa), “Los adioses” (Dir. Natalia Beristain), entre otros.
Su trabajo ha sido reconocido ampliamente entre el gremio y la crítica especializada. La cinta “Asfixia”, que protagoniza, le ha hecho acreedor a nominaciones al Premio Ariel y a las Diosas de Plata en la categoría de Mejor coactuación masculina, así como el Ojito a Mejor actor en el Festival internacional de Cine de Morelia en 2018. “Una película de policías” es otro de los títulos que ha marcado la carrera de Raúl, haciéndole acreedor al Premio Ariel como Mejor actor en 2022. Su tercera nominación a los galardones llega este 2023, en la categoría de coactuación masculina por su trabajo actoral en “El norte sobre el vacío”.
