Es licenciada en Cinematografía de la Universidad del Cine –FUC de Buenos Aires, Argentina. En el año 2005 filmó su primer largometraje, Hamaca paraguaya, estrenado en el Festival de Cine de Cannes. En el 2016 estrenó su segundo largometraje, Ejercicios de memoria, en la sección Zalbategi del Festival Internacional de Cine de San Sebastián – SSIFF. En el año 2020 fue invitada a ser parte de la Academia de Artes y Ciencias Cinematográficas de EUA. Dos años después estrenó Eami (2022) en el Festival Internacional de Cine de Róterdam – IFFR, donde obtuvo el Premio Tiger. Encina fue beneficiada con la beca Harvard Radcliffe para desarrollar su próximo proyecto, El único tiempo.

She graduated from the Filmmaking B.A. program in Universidad del Cine – FUC, Buenos Aires, Argentina. In 2005, she shot her debut feature, Hamaca paraguaya, which premiered at the Cannes Film Festival. In 2016, her sophomore feature, Ejercicios de memoria, premiered at the Zalbategi Section of the San Sebastian International Film Festival – SSIFF. In 2020, she was invited to join the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences. Two years later, her film Eami (2022) premiered at the International Film Festival Rotterdam –IFFR and went on to receive the Tiger Award. She is a Harvard Radcliffe fellow and is developing her next project, El único tiempo.
