Maya Da-Rin is a filmmaker and visual artist. She received her bachelor’s degree from Le Fresnoy – Studio National des Arts Contemporains in France, holds a master’s degree in Cinema and Art History from Sorbonne Nouvelle, and has participated in film workshops at the Cuban School of Cinema. She directed the documentaries Terras (2009) and Margem (2007), the video installations Horizonte de Eventos (2012) and Camouflage (2013), and the short film French Version (2011). Her work has been shown at over 50 film festivals and art institutions around the world, including Locarno, Toronto, MoMA and the Vilnius Contemporary Art Centre. Her first feature feature film, The Fever (2019), had its world premiere at the international competition of the Locarno Film Festival, where it won the Pardo for Best Actor and the FIPRESCI international critics’ award, in addition to more than 15 prizes in other international festivals.

Hizo su licenciatura en Le Fresnoy – Studio National des Arts Contemporains, en Francia, y obtuvo su maestría en Cine e Historia del Arte en Sorbonne Nouvelle, y ha participado en talleres de cine en la Escuela Cubana de Cine. Dirigió los documentales Terras (2009) y Margem (2007), las instalaciones de video Horizonte de Eventos (2012) and Camouflage (2013), así como el cortometraje French Version (2011).
