Director y guionista mexicano, estudió en la Real Academia de Arte Dramático – RADA, en Londres. Su ópera prima, Güeros, ganó más de cuarenta premios en festivales en todo el mundo, incluyendo el de Mejor Ópera Prima en la Berlinale de 2013. Museo, su segundo largometraje, ganó el Oso de Plata a Mejor Guion en Berlín en 2018 y el premio a mejor director en el Festival Internacional de Cine de Atenas – AIFF, así como en el Festival Internacional de Cine de Morelia – FICM. Su tercer largometraje, Una película de policías, obtuvo el Ariel a Mejor Documental. Recientemente terminó su cuarto largometraje, La cocina, estelarizado por Rooney Mara. Actualmente se esfuerza en tener más paciencia con sus dos hijos, Tomás y Martín.

Mexican film director and screenwriter. He studied at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts - RADA in London. His first feature, Güeros, won over 40 prizes in festivals around the world, including Best First Feature at the Berlinale 2013. Museo, his second feature, won the Silver Bear for Best Screenplay at the Berlinale 2018 and Best Director in Athens International Film Festival – AIFF and in Morelia International Film Festival - FICM. His third film, A Cop Movie, won the Golden Ariel for Best Documentary. He has just completed his fourth feature La cocina, starring Rooney Mara. He is trying to be more patient with his two boys Tomás and Martín.
