Biografía ES:

Nació en Teherán y creció en los Estados Unidos, donde estudió Arquitectura, Fotografía y Cine. Su cortometraje Transit (2005) ganó el Premio del Jurado en el Festival Premiers Plans Angers y fue nominada al Premio Jean Vigo en 2005, ambos en Francia. Su primer largometraje, Ziba (2012), fue parte de la residencia Cinéfondation del Festival de Cine de Cannes. Su documental The Silent Majority Speaks (2010-14) figura entre las diez películas indispensables según la crítica y curadora de cine Nicole Brenez. Su último largo, Luciérnagas (FICUNAM 2018), se estrenó en el Festival Internacional de Cine de Róterdam y ganó el Premio HBO a la Mejor Película Iberoamericana en el Festival Internacional de Cine de Miami (Miami IFF).

Bani is a filmmaker and visual artist born in Tehran and raised in USA, where she studied Architecture, Photography and Film. Her short film Transit (2005) won the Jury Prize at Premiers Plans Angers and was nominated for the Jean Vigo Prize. Her first feature, Ziba (2012) was written at the Cannes Cinéfondation Residency. Her documentary The Silent Majority Speaks (2010-14), is part of the French film critic Nicole Brenez’ list of top ten essential films ever. Fireflies (FICUNAM 2018), her second feature fiction, premiered at the International Film Festival Rotterdam (IFFR) and won the HBO Prize for Best Ibero-American feature at the Miami International Film Festival.
